Reb Shia Jacobowitz Z”L, had a personal connection to Bais Liska--His grandmother married ( in a second marriage for both ) to Rav Yoizef Goldberger ZT"L who was the oldest son in law of the revered Rav Tzvi Hersh of Liska Zy"u and lived in Liska. He was proud of this connection and would always remind the current Liska Rebbe of this.

Reb Shia enjoyed a particularly personal relationship with the current Liska Rebbe Shlita; living on the same block on 45th Street in Boro Park.

Whenever they would encounter each other on the street which happened at regular intervals especially on Shabbos afternoon after returning home from shul, Reb Shia would often share memories of Belz and other tzadikim with whom he interacted throughout his long life in the pre and during war years.

The Liska Rebbe is a Belzer einikel and Reb Shia would often travel to Belz and knew well the Liska Rebbe's uncle Rav Shmiel Frankel ZT" Hy"D who was a son in law of the revered previous Belzer Rebbe Zy"u.

On the yahrtzeit of the founder of Liska Chasidus Rav Tzvi Hersh of Liska Zy"u, known as the Ach Pri Tevuah, Reb Shia would participate at the Yahrtzeit Tisch conducted by the Liska Rebbe Shlita in the Liska Bais Medrash.

Thus with the passing of Reb Shia brings another glorias chapter of a truly remarkable and Chasidisha yid of a bygone era to close. May he be a melitz yosher for Klal Yisroel.

פטירתו של הרה"ח מו"ה יהושע יאקאבאוויטש ע"ה ממעריצי הדוקים לאדמור"י בית ליסקא זי"ע

ולהבחל"ח כ"ק מרן אדמו"ר מליסקא שליט"א

בצער רב אנו מבשרים פטירתו של הרב החסיד הישיש מו"ה ר' יהושע יאקבאוויטש ז"ל שהיה לו קשר מיוחד חזק ואמיץ עם רבותינו הקדושים לבית ליסקא, מאחר שזקינתו היתה בזוו"ש אשת הגאון הצדיק רבי יוזפא גאלדבערגער זצ"ל חדב"נ מרן הגה"ק רבי צבי הירש מליסקא זי"ע, בעל אך פרי תבואה. ר' יהושע רגיל מדאי שנה בשנה לבוא להשתתף בשלחן יומא דהילולא קדישא של הבעל אך פרי תבואה.

כ"ק אדמו"ר מליסקא שליט"א היה אהוב אצלו במיוחד באות ידידות נפשיות, בהיותו נמנה בין חשובי נכדי בית בעלזא. וגם אביו כ"ק מרן אדמו"ר רבי יוזפא מליסקא זי"ע היה חתנו של הגה"צ רבי אברהם יהושע העשיל פרענקל זצ"ל הי"ד אדמו"ר מהיבנוב-לובלין מחתנו של הגה"ק אדמו"ר מהר"א מבעלזא זי"ע, כי בנו הגה"צ רבי שמואל פרענקל זצ"ל הי"ד היה חתנו.

ר' יהושע בהיותו חסיד גם לבית בעלזא ודבוק ורבניה זי"ע הכיר בטוב את רבי שמואל זצ"ל והרבה לשוחח אודותו בשיחותיו שיחת טעם זקנים עובדות ושמיעות שהיה חקוק בזכרונו הבהיר.

בנוסף לזה היה שכנים טובים וקרובים ברחוב 45 בבארא פארק עם להבחל"ח עם כ"ק אדמו"ר מליסקא שליט"א, והיה מחזה רגיל לראותם יחד 'שמועסן' על אם הדרך, ומעלה זכרונות עובדות וסיפורים ממה ששמע וראו מימי הקדם, והצעירים סבבו אותם לקבל ולשמוע מהני שיחות מעליותא.
